6 Fighting Irish Collect All-CHSL Laurels

Six members of the Central Catholic softball team collected All-CHSL laurels, the Catholic High School League announced this week.

Highlighting the Scarlet & Gray’s selections were senior Ella Schuberg, junior Makenzie Coleman, and freshman Maeley Bragg, who were named to the All-Catholic Team.

Schuberg posted a 9-4 ledger in the circle with 167 strikeouts and a 2.91 ERA in 98.2 innings.  She also hit .414 (36-for-87) with 12 runs scored and 20 RBI.  Coleman batted a team-high .522 (47-for-90) with 33 runs scored, 2 home runs, and 40 RBI.  Bragg hit .446 (41-for-92) with 40 runs scored, 13 RBI, and a squad-best 25 stolen bases.

Three Fighting Irish also received All-League accolades. They included senior Addison Brinkman, junior Alexis Rayfield, and freshman Milla Bragg.

Brinkman batted .366 (34-for-93) with 23 runs scored, a team-high 5 home runs, and 28 RBI.  She also tallied a 4-2 mark on the mound with 70 punchouts and a 3.58 ERA in 45.0 frames.  Rayfield hit .424 (25-for-59) with 20 runs scored, 7 RBI, and 12 stolen bases, while Bragg batted .386 (34-for-88) with 34 runs scored, 25 RBI, and 9 thefts.

In addition, Schuberg was tabbed to the All-Academic squad for a 2nd-straight year.  Earlier this month, she was named the Class of 2025 Heritage Speaker.  The Heritage Award is given to the 3rd ranking member of the senior class.

The trio of Brinkman, Coleman, and Schuberg are garnering all-conference recognition for the 3rd-straight year.

CCHS, which recently won the CHSL Cardinal Division Championship for a 2nd-consecutive season, finished with a 19-10 overall record under the direction of Head Coach Cory Bryan, including an 11-4 league mark.
