Get to Know CCHS Teacher - Henry (Hank) Wetzel

What subjects and grade levels do you teach? 

I teach social studies, including geography, sociology and economics.

How long have you been teaching at Central Catholic? 

This is my first year, although I was here for a quarter portraying Mrs. (Corri) Stanley during her maternity leave.

What is your educational background? 

I am a 1999 graduate of The University of Toledo, majoring in education with an emphasis on history and geography.

What is the best kept secret about Central Catholic? 

The students.  From day one, I have been blown away by how friendly, outgoing, and welcoming the students here are to new people.  They are why this place is special. 

What inspired you to become a teacher? 

It combines two things I love.  History and seeing the excitement on the face of a young person when they learn something new.

What do you like most about teaching at Central Catholic? 

There are two things: The first are the students, and the second is that you can feel Christ working in this building.  It is truly a special place.
