Girls’ Basketball Loses to Rival Notre Dame Academy in CHSL Opener, 56-23

The Central Catholic girls’ basketball team sustained a 56-23 loss against rival Notre Dame Academy on Wednesday in its Catholic High School League opener.  With the setback, the Fighting Irish fall to 0-2 overall, 0-1 in the CHSL.

Junior Nina Stevens paced the Scarlet & Gray with 8 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Classmate Serinity Bolden also contributed a team-tying best 7 boards.

Earlier in the evening, the CCHS junior varsity team dropped a 44-26 decision vs. NDA, while the freshman squad suffered a 24-14 setback.

Central Catholic will return to the court against Gilmour Academy on Saturday, December 7 in a non-conference matchup.  The junior varsity game is slated for 11:30 a.m. on the road, followed immediately by the varsity contest at 1 p.m.
