Women’s History Month Q&A with Amy Rough

Amy Rough is in her first year as Student Activities Coordinator at Central Catholic. Amy is a 1995 graduate of The University of Toledo with a degree in applied business, specializing in marketing and sales. Amy is the mother of two boys, Ryley and Grady. Ryley is a 2019 graduate of CCHS and currently a sophomore at UToledo studying finance, while Grady is in the 7th grade and is a future Irish.

What advice would you give to women in your respective field?
As the Student Activities Coordinator at CCHS, my main focus is the students and what makes them unique. My advice to women is to listen and generally be interested in people. Find out what makes them tick and be in-tune with their emotions, and then take what they need and give them support.

Tell us about a woman you look up to & why.
Actually, it's the young female students that I have encountered here at CCHS that I look up to. It’s the women who are determined, forward-thinking, and who want to make a change. I appreciate women who don't take "no" for an answer. Women who lead and make others around them better and challenge others to strive to be leaders are those individuals that I look up to.

What does Women’s History Month mean to you?
WHM means that no matter where or who you are in life, whether it’s a CEO of a major corporation or CEO of a domestic residence, women have an innate ability and capacity to make things happen with their strength.

What do you love about Central Catholic High School?
One of the best attributes of CCHS is the family atmosphere. Everybody is welcome and everyone has a special gift that brings a wealth of knowledge and support to the student table.
