What subjects and grade levels do you teach at Central Catholic?
I teach Band, Strings, Beginning Guitar, and Beginning Piano.

Where did you teach before coming to CCHS?
Before Central Catholic, I was the band director for 12 years in Aurora Schools in the Cleveland area.

What is your educational background?
I attended high school in Paulding, Ohio.  Then I attended Bowling Green State University, majoring in Music Education with an emphasis on trombone.

What inspired you to become a teacher?
As a high school band member, I had a fabulous experience.  I enjoyed playing my instrument, and my friends were also in music classes.  Our music groups traveled and performed in many different venues, and I loved every minute of it.  These experiences helped guide my decision to pursue music as my career.  I want to provide these same types of opportunities for young musicians.

What made you want to become a teacher at Central Catholic?
Being from the area, I learned that Central Catholic has deep roots as a stellar exemplar of success and tradition.  As a professional, I fully enjoy being a part of that history.

What are your impressions of CCHS so far?
The students at Central Catholic are truly kind people.  In my first days with the band members at band camp, the students and parents were friendly and helpful.  Walking through the halls while school is in session is a happy and friendly experience. Students and staffulty greet each other with smiles and fist bumps, and most everyone seems to be smiling.  Go Irish!!!
