What is the best kept secret about Central Catholic?
Maybe this is no secret, but our student body is amazing.  I really, genuinely love the time I get to spend with each and every one of my students.  They have big dreams, and it is inspiring to learn about them!

What inspired you to become a teacher?
I was inspired to become a teacher because of the opportunity it allows me to come alongside teens and empower them.  As a teacher, I am constantly aware that I have a place in their journeys to becoming the best versions of themselves. My role in presenting them with some of the skills they will need to achieve their dreams and aspirations is the most inspiring aspect of this profession.

What do you like most about teaching at Central Catholic?
I love that our students genuinely love their school.  I have never been in a school that has more school spirit than here at CCHS!

Recently, Mrs. Mills was awarded a grant from The Book Love Foundation.  The foundation is dedicated to teachers who inspire a love of reading.  It provides classroom libraries comprised of hundreds of books carefully chosen to meet teenagers where they are and lead them to the deep rewards of reading.  The foundation puts those books into the hands of teachers who demonstrate a commitment to rich reading lives for all students.

Mrs. Mills had determined that a lack of resources prevents many students from finding the books they want to read.  She built a classroom library with over 200 books through her own funds and donations, and she is using the grant to grow her library.  She is driven and committed to building an engaging reading community for her students.

Diamond Roy, now a senior at CCHS, graciously wrote Mrs. Mills’ letter of recommendation when she applied for the grant last year.
